Dear customers:
Thank you for choosing DHL Express. We would like to take this opportunity to communicate with you some important information about shipping to the United States. This information involves the transportation of goods with a customs declaration value of more than $800 and may affect your shipping plans.
According to the recent executive order issued by the US President, goods shipped from all over the world to the United States are now subject to stricter entry supervision if the declared value exceeds $800. According to the latest regulations of the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), goods that could previously use informal customs declarations (valued between $800 and $2,500) must now be officially declared separately. The shipper is required to provide a detailed description of the goods, the 10-digit US Customs Tariff Code (HTS), the country of origin of the goods (COO), the recipient’s tax number (EIN, applicable to the recipient as a company), and the recipient’s SSN (Social security number, applicable to the recipient as an individual).
As a result of this change, there has been a surge in official declarations. While we are working hard to accommodate these surges, there may still be multi-day shipping delays, especially for shipments with a declared value of more than $800.
To ensure that we can continue to provide you with high-quality services, we have decided to temporarily suspend services for B2C shipments (recipients are US individuals) with a declared value of more than $800 from April 21, 2025 until further notice. Please note that shipments with a declared value of less than $800 are not affected by this suspension. At the same time, B2B shipments (recipients are US businesses) can still be served as usual, but may also face delays, please understand.
